Your first step is to download the add-on from your customer area. You will be asked to provide some information before downloading. Once you download, save the .zip file somewhere you are familiar with. Next, you will want to extract the files. After that is done you will need to upload the contents inside the upload folder into your root Xenforo directory. You will then need to install the .xml file. Click Choose File and select the .xml file that you found in the .zip folder. Congratulations! You have now added [TH] Hotspots.

Setting up [TH] Hotspots [TH] Hotspots allows you to set up landmarks to pin to a map located on your forums. Users can also browse a full list of hotspots and view extra information about the hotspot, including a full BB code description, link to an image, link to a description and date that it was pinned on. Configuring Hotspots Options Go to your administrative panel, click on options, and then look for [TH] Hotspots. Clicking on that will take you to [TH] Hotspots option menu which is where you will be able to set up how you want Hotspots to run on your forums. Such things as your Google API, map zoom, location of hotspots, and much more. Google API To be able to make maps work, you will need to get a Google API key which will need to be inserted into the field box. You can get one by clicking on “Google Cloud Platform” below the field box. Items Per Page This setting allows you to set how many landmarks can be shown in the overview. Configuring Latitude, Longitude, and Zoom This setting allows you to set the default location for users, you are able to implement a custom latitude, longitude, and how far up or down the map is pointed by default. Configuring Map Types & Geolocation Also, this setting allows you to set the map's default terrain which is shown to all users. They include map types like, satellite, hybrid, terrain, or your own custom map. Another setting below will allow your members to see their primary location, that is if they allow it through their browser. Configuring Categories To be able to create categories, go to the applications tab on your administrative panel before looking for hotspots and create new category. Creating a category such as “Test Maps” will then be shown in the hotspots options menu where you can set it there by default. Configuring Custom Maps Here you can set a custom map url, width, height, and name of the custom map. This can then be set by default under map types. Configuring Hotspots Characters To cut down on long landmark titles or descriptions set by number of characters. Allow Multiple Hotspots You can allow/disallow multiple hotspots in the same location. Allow Scroll & Cluster Allowing mouse scroll will allow users to scroll with their mouse without using the plus and minus icons on the map unless they choose to use them. Clustering landmarks on the map will cluster different landmarks that you created or those on the map by default set by Google. Navigator Bar Location Changing of the location of Hotspots to be shown can be edited here. Show it as it’s own tab, under the members tab, under the forums tab, or don’t show it at all. Creating a Hotspot To create a hotspot, go to the applications tab, look for hotspots, and click “Create New Hotspot”. Options that are shown in the menu will be listed down below to better explain what input should be placed there. Title - Name of the location or hotspot Updated Date - Date on which the hotspot was made or updated last Description - Information based on the hotspot rather it be history or what the hotspot is Category - What category the hotspot is located in depending on what categories you made Image URL - Image showing off the hotspot Thread URL - A thread explaining or is based off the hotspot Address - Location of the hotspot which will be used by the map to pinpoint the hotspot location along with the latitude and longitude Latitude - The south and north coordinates of the location Longitude - The east and west coordinate of the location Marker Text - May set a custom text which will be shown with the marker on the map Website - Link a website that is based off the location Zoom - Set a custom zoom height to be used when showing the location on the map Listing of Categories & Hotspots For those categories and hotspots you have created, you can view them by looking for them on the applications tab under Hotspots. “List Categories” and “List Hotspots” will allow you to view all that you or other administrators have created.
