Meet Nikki, creative director at Audentio.
Nikki has been with our team for over 3 years. She is responsible for creating all major UI viewsets, brand design and management for all major projects, and major promtional graphics.
What is your role at Audentio?
I'm the lead designer behind anything and everything dealing with visual design for the company. On a daily basis, I can be seen designing user interfaces, brands, graphics, and iconography for client and internal work.
What’s your favorite part of the job?
I would say the variety of projects that we're apart of is always refreshing and challenging and a huge part of why I love my job. One day I can be building out a brand styleguide and the next, I'm designing mobile screens for the next app project.
I also enjoy the first time I'm able to see a design alive and interactive after weeks and potentially months of the design process.
What advice would you give someone looking to enter a creative field?
I would say two things: 1) have an open mind to criticism and 2) have a collaborative-focused attitude.
- Onboarding a client who hasn't been directly involved in the day to day design process is challenging and can lead to negative feedback. Always understand that everyone has very different ways of thinking and approaching problems. As a designer, it is crucial to be open to other opinions which leads into the next point.
- Collaboration is essential. You need to run your ideas through other creative and non-creative minds to get it to the next level. Remember to be empathetic to others as everyone is working towards the same goal.
How long have you worked in the field?
I have been in the UI/UX field for close to three years now. Prior to Audentio, my design focus was more on graphic design.
What are your favorite hobbies/interests outside of work?
Outside of work, I read often in the fantasy realm, try to achieve 100% in any video game I play, and watch the latest binge-worthy shows.
